Shared by a US physician with the Floating Doctors
A 49-year old male with no past medical history presents with a one week history of macerated skin with fissures and minimal serosanguineous exudate in bilateral popliteal areas (see photo) with progressive itchiness but no increased warmth or inguinal lymphadenopathy. Prior to this he had dry skin in popliteal areas for a couple of weeks and also noted pruritus on neck with no skin changes.
He is a construction worker who stands continuously for work and wears shorts. He has not been exposed to hazardous chemicals. He has no any previous history of rash, lacerations, or skin breakdown. He has not tried any treatments and hasn’t noticed any exacerbating factors.
