Hands-on Lead Quality Engineer for Ruby on Rails Project

Sermo is currently seeking a full-time Lead Software Quality Engineer to test applications developed in the Ruby on Rails environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the testing effort for applications developed in Ruby on Rails.
  • Create unit, functional, and integration tests with in the test unit framework.
  • Create UI level automation with Selenium.
  • Lead and mentor quality engineers.
  • Work closely with the project team to ship a quality product.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience testing applications developed in Ruby on Rails.
  • At least 5 years experience testing hosted web applications.
  • Experience working with the agile development methodology.
  • B. Sc., Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of QA best practices.
  • Ability to analyze, critically review, and provide input and feedback to design documents.
  • Proven experience of investigating, solving and reporting on quality issues in interaction with development and support.
  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, XML, AJAX, Java, JavaScript, and web services.
  • Proficiency with relational databases, with the ability to write SQL queries.
  • Experience with functional and performance test tools and frameworks including Selenium, Testunit, and Junit.
  • Proficiency with Linux, Windows, and Macintosh operating environments.
